Lewis Hamilton and Felipe Massa just can’t seem to get enough of each other this year. The BIC mix-up on Sunday included, the two have tangled with one another six times over the course of the season. Five of those have been in a race and once in a qualifying session.
Unlike the previous instances, however, their coming together on Lap 25 resulted in Massa being handed a drive-through penalty instead of Hamilton being penalised.
Hamilton also took a slight dig at Massa following the Brazilian wrecking his right front suspension after cutting too deep into Turn 15 in Q3 on Saturday.
When Massa’s complaints about the orange stone slabs that were placed on the inside of the corner were brought up in the post-qualifying press conference, Hamilton’s reply was swift. “The kerbs we have here are the smoothest ones we have on the entire calendar,” said the McLaren driver.
