YSR Reddy's mother Jayamma died at a private hospital on Wednesday evening. She was 76.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy's mother Jayamma died at a private hospital here on Wednesday evening. She was 76.
She was admitted to the hospital after sustaining serious injuries in an accidental fall in her native village Pulivendula in Kadappa district on January 9. She is survived by three sons and a daughter.
Family sources said her funeral would be performed in Pulivendula on Thursday.
The chief minister is her second son, while the eldest son YS Raj Reddy died a few years ago. Her third son YS Vivekananda Reddy is a MP from Kadappa while the fourth son YS Ravindernath Reddy is a businessman.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi have condoled the death. They had visited her at the hospital on Monday at the end of the three-day plenary session here of the ruling Congress party.
