The New Zealand-born pace bowler bears a striking similarity to Richard Hadlee on whom he modelled his delivery.

He made his one-day debut almost a decade ago but this will be his first World Cup.

He was not in favour in either 1996 or 1999 but has played a prominent role ever since that second tournament in England.

Duncan Fletcher and Nasser Hussain have shown great faith in Caddick after calling him into the fold in 2000.

The Somerset strike bowler played all but one of the one-day matches that year, but since, his contribution has tailed off.

Age may be catching up with him, but Fletcher, Hussain and Caddick himself will be hoping that he has one big effort left in the tank.
