Talking to mediapersons, Anju Chaudhary said the proposed conference would be an eye-opener for the newly elected mayors. She said the exchange of views with others mayors from Myanmar Shri Lanka and other countries would enrich her plan to give a new facelift to Gorakhpur Municipal Corporation.
Counting her priority in her first press conference after the swearing-in ceremony, Chaudhary said she would distress on campaign against the mosquitoes menace and appealed the people to cooperate in making the city neat and clean.
Chaudhary said she had made spot inspection of three localities in last three days and found that fogging campaign and sanitation condition was very poor.
She said that corporation was planning to purchase two-dozen manual spray machines to carry out the spraying in lanes and other parts of the city.
She further said that a campaign to maintain the park would be launched by next week and claimed that the board meeting would be convened soon.
Chaudhary admitted that the plantation drive launched by the Municipal Corporation failed as about 25 lakh plants were planted on papers but the ground reality was quite different.
She said BJP MP Yogi Adityanath and saffron brigade had decided to organise a World Hindu Sangam in Gorakhpur from December 22 to 25 and delegates of 39 countries would participate in this conference.
