Anti-graft activist Anna Hazare on Wednesday set the stage for a fresh confrontation with the UPA government, announcing his decision to launch a satyagraha at the Ram Lila ground in New Delhi from day one of the winter session of the Parliament in support of the Jan Lokpal bill.
Anna Hazare was in Varanasi on Tuesday in connection with his Jantantra Yatra.
"I will start satyagraha at Ram Lila maidan from the day winter session of Parliament starts. The agitation will continue till the government implements the Jan Lokpal bill," Anna told newsmen on Tuesday at a 'meet the press' function organised by the Kashi Patrakar Sangh.
"Twice the Congress government has deceived us by making false promises to implement the Jan Lokpal bill. But this time I will not fall into the trap of Congress leaders," Anna asserted.
Anna also clarified his statement that had appeared in a section of the media related to Gujarat CM Narendra Modi.
"I had never said that Narendra Modi is not communal. I had only pointed out that personally I do not have any proof on the basis of which I can label Modi as communal," Anna clarified.
But as the Gujarat chief minister is associated with a communal party, it is very clear that Narendra Modi is also a communal leader, Anna asserted.
Anna also refused to support his old associate Arvind Kejriwal in the forthcoming assembly election in New Delhi.
"I will not seek votes for any political party not even for Arvind Kejriwal," Anna said.
