Specifically mentioning Varun Gandhi's rally in the Dhalchad area of the constituency on March 7, Agrawal stated in the FIR that the BJP leader used derogatory language there also.
"We have registered case No 238/09," investigating officer DK Dwivedi said.
The Election Commission had recommended Agrawal's transfer on Wednesday afternoon and the fresh case against Varun Gandhi was registered at night. Agrawal handed over charge to his subordinate on Thursday.
