Another first for IIT entrance exam topper

IIT-JEE topper Nitin Jain has proved that he is not a one-hit wonder. The 17-year-old has now topped the AIEEE (All India Engineering Entrance Examination). He is only the second person to do so. Tanya Ashreena reports.

The 17-year-old has now topped the AIEEE (All India Engineering Entrance Examination). He is only the second person to do so.

“I knew I would top the AIEEE, because I felt I had done well. The exam went even better than the IIT-JEE exam,” Jain said. “I finished the three-hour paper in two-and-a-half hours.”

Just when celebrations at his house were getting over, he gave the family another reason to rejoice. “Today, a few friends came over to celebrate,” he said on Saturday.

Nitin’s parents and teachers are happy with his success.

The last IIT-JEE topper to also top the AIEEE was Piyush Shrivastava in 2005.
