Another youth receives bullet injuries in south Kashmir
A youth was shifted to a Srinagar on Sunday evening in critical condition after he sustained bullet injuries after a CRPF patrol allegedly fired into a group of youth in south Kashmir's Anantnag district.
A youth was shifted to a Srinagar on Sunday evening in critical condition after he sustained bullet injuries after a CRPF patrol allegedly fired into a group of youth in south Kashmir's Anantnag district.
According to locals, the youth was hit by a bullet in the upper part of the body near Wantpora in Anantnag district, 50 km south of Srinagar. After treatment at a local hospital, the youth was shifted to a Srinagar hospital in a critical condition.
The locals alleged a CRPF patrol opened fire into a group of youth on Sunday evening. There were conflicting reports over whether there was a stone pelting in the area or youth were standing there when the patrol allegedly opened firing.
The police have not come up with any statement so far.
The incident has come just a day after a 15-year-old youth, Suhail Ahmad, was killed after being hit by bullets during anti-Israel protests in south Kashmir's Kulgam district.
The firing took place despite inspector general of police Abdul Ghani Mir asking troops on ground to behave and show caution while handling law and order situation.
Amid separatist backed shutdown, there were violent protests in twin districts of Kulgam and Anantnag on Sunday.
