“The STF would control this cell for the security of religious places and common people. The STF is already in touch with cops of 10 States to find out clues about the anti-nationals, who carried out bomb blasts here,” the DGP said. An award of Rs one lakh has been announced for any one giving clue about terrorists who executed the Varanasi blasts.
Talking to mediapersons on Friday, the DGP said, “We cannot predict the exact time-frame for working out this case but are hopeful to workout at the earliest as competent STF sleuths of UP are in touch with cops of 10 States in this connection.
He said the security of religious places would be reviewed. Meanwhile, adequate security arrangements have been made at all important religious spots. Central Security Forces have also been deployed in Varanasi.
For checking the terrorist activities, he stressed the need for mass mobilisation to sensitise the common people, especially vendors.
The DGP indicated that there was much similarity in the bomb blasts of New Delhi and Varanasi. Components of Varanasi blasts consisted ammonium nitrate, RDX and aluminum coil.
SSP Navniet Sekera said round-the-clock video recording of visitors to Sankat Mochan Temple would be conducted by the administration.
