Ordnance Corps was established in the year 1775. In 1884 it came to be known as Indian Ordnance Corps. It was later changed to Indian Army Ordnance Depot. Post Independence its name was changed to Army Ordnance Corps. The AOC has an onerous task of managing the huge inventory of the entire army, a task which it has been performing with dedication for over two centuries.

On the occasion of the 231st Corps Day, a grand function was organised under the aegis of Colonel Rajvir Singh, Commandant, Central Ordnance Depot, Chheoki. Prizes were distributed to combatants, civilian employees and families who took part in various events and emerged winners.
