Arjun to make statement in House over NCERT row

Union Human Resource Development Minister Arjun Singh on Saturday said he would make a statement in Parliament next week on the issue of NCERT textbooks allegedly describing some freedom fighters as 'terrorists'.

"I will make a statement in Parliament next week on the issue," he told reporters in neighbouring Mirzapur district after inaugurating the south campus of the Banaras Hindu University (BHU).

The Minister evaded reply to a question regarding the proposal to include the Ayodhya dispute, 2002 Gujarat riots and 1984 anti-Sikh riots in NCERT syllabus.
