Army has launched an area specific demining operation along IB in Ramgarh sector of the district since Tuesday and cleared six anti-personnel mines till now.

The area of specific demining operation was necessary in view of the state government's resolve to clear agricultural land from the mines laid during the Indo-Pak border build up in 2001, they said.

The operation has been launched to free the agricultural land from the mines and pave way for re-starts of farming activities along the borderline, they said.
