The Ambedkar Republican Party of India (ARPI) will support the candidates of AIADMK and its allies for the coming Assembly polls in Pndicherry.

Addressing a press conference, the president of the Tamil Nadu state unit of the party, AT Srirangaprakash said in Pondicherry on Tuesday that the party would support the AIADMK-led front in Tamil Nadu also.

He charged the Congress government in Pondicherry with having failed to provide jobs to dalit youths during the five-year rule.

As many as 2000 workers were out of job as a private glass container production centre in Thondamanatham village near here, where they were working, has become non-functional for over three months.

The overhead tank constructed by PWD in a number of backward villages including Thondmanatham has not been made operational and consequently water problem continued to daunt the residents, he said.

House site pattas were also not given to the poor families, he added.

Srirangaprakash alleged that there was large scale deletion of names of eligible voters from electoral rolls.
