Arya asks MPs and MLAs to take 20 pc less salary

Uttarakhand Congress president Yashpal Arya on Thursday asked all party MPs and MLAs to voluntarily take 20 per cent less salary to provide help to drought-hit areas of the country.

Uttarakhand Congress president Yashpal Arya on Thursday asked all party MPs and MLAs to voluntarily take 20 per cent less salary to provide help to drought-hit areas of the country.

In a letter written to all the five party MPs and 20 MLAs, Arya urged them to follow the decision of All India Congress Committee in this regard, a press statement said in Dehra Dun.

In his letter, Arya said that all MPs and MLAs should take 20 per cent less salary for one year from this month as several areas of the country are severely hit by drought.
