Though the acts of the supporters of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray should be condemned, we must realise that our metro cities are on the verge of collapse. The unbridled migration of people to the big cities is pushing infrastructure to the limit. There should be concrete guidelines for controlling human and vehicular population in metro cities.

It’s shameful that we cannot protect our own citizens when they migrate to other states for employment as the recent episode of north Indian-bashing in Mumbai proved. If Indians are not loved in their own country, then how can we expect the same from the Malaysian government that accuses ethnic Indians there of disrupting peace in that country?

This has reference to the report Hijack helpers get life (February 6), India has no moral, political or legal right to convict Yusuf Nepali, Dalip Kumar Bhujail and Abdul Latif and carry out their sentences as long as Masood Azhar, Omar Sheikh and Mushtaq Ahmed Zargar are not brought back to India and suitably punished.
Judge the judges
Paranjoy Guha Thakurta in Immune system (February 5) depicts the situation in the judicial system, which is opaque even so many years after independence. There must be an impartial investigating agency to probe into the anomalies in the judiciary.
