Ascetic arrested with bombs in Jharkhand
A Hindu ascetic has been arrested after six bombs were found in his possession in Deoghar district of Jharkhand on Saturday, police said.
A Hindu ascetic has been arrested after six bombs were found in his possession in Deoghar district of Jharkhand on Saturday, police said.
According to police, the bombs were recovered from the sadhu's house, situated at Hirna colony of Deoghar district, around 400 km from Ranchi, early Saturday morning.
On a tip-off, police raided the house and found the bombs. Police are trying to ascertain the reason for keeping the bombs.
"The interrogation of the arrested person will reveal the purpose behind keeping the bombs. We are trying to find out who supplied the bombs," a police official in Deoghar district told IANS.
The recovery of the bombs has unnerved the police. More than three million devotees visit Deoghar during the month of Shravan (July-August) to pray at the Baba Baidyanath Dham temple there.
Security in the district has been beefed up.
