The decision to defer the strike was taken following talks with the Civil Aviation Ministry, Civil Aviation officials said.
A meeting with the members of Air Traffic Controllers' Guild would be held this afternoon, the officials said.
The Guild sources said that the extra workload on the controllers had been increasing and fewer staff had to bear the work pressure.
