"Yesterday's event was really a big disappointment, but today I wanted to prove a point to everyone about my speed," said Gill. "I drove at the best of my capacity today and it was a good learning experience for me for the future events in the championship," he added.
Gill was forced to retire his Skoda on the first day after a broken wire stopped his Skoda Fabia S2000's engine.
Earlier, his teammate Chris Atkinson won the rally. The Australian is a leading contender for the overall title Atkinson and produced yet another dominant performance.
Atkinson won by a margin of 1:57.9 seconds ahead of defending champion Alister McRae of Scotland.
