ATM burgled at Piplani

UNIDENTIFIED THIEVES stole cash from a State Bank of Indore ATM in the Piplani area past midnight on Tuesday. The exact amount of the cash stolen from the machine was not yet known, police said.

UNIDENTIFIED THIEVES stole cash from a State Bank of Indore ATM in the Piplani area past midnight on Tuesday. The exact amount of the cash stolen from the machine was not yet known, police said.

According to Piplani police, bank manager Sanjay Bedi lodged a complaint about the theft at around 12.30 pm on Tuesday.

The burgled ATM is on the ground floor of the Sarla Tower building opposite Piplani petrol pump. The bank branch is situated on the upper floor in the same building.

The bank authorities were yet to ascertain the exact amount of cash stolen from the ATM, police said. All that the bank employees told the police was that the ATM had currency notes in Rs 500 and Rs 100 denominations.

Police a registered a case and further investigations are on in the matter. Police, however, suspect the hand of some insider as the ATM was not broken into and the machine was opened using either its password or the key.
