AU students demand ex-gratia for Meerut fire victims

Speaking on the occasion, Mishra demanded ex-gratia for the bereaved families and CBI investigation into the incident. Mishra held the State government responsible for the incident and demanded that it should step down on moral grounds.
Those present in the meeting included Rishikesh Tiwari, Abhishek Shukla, Vijay Dwivedi, Pradeep Dwivedi, Sanjay Sharma, Santosh, Manish , Rajesh Pandey and others.
Meanwhile, the students decided to gherao district magistrate Amrit Abhijat and submit a memorandum for the President on Thursday against reservation in higher education. The decision was taken at a meeting at the AU student union hall on Wednesday under student leader Abhishek Shukla. An anti-reservation front was also constituted on the occasion and office bearers were elected.
Speaking on the occasion, Shukla said reservation in higher education would harm the career of deserving and meritorious students. Shukla said AU students were determined to fight against reservation and warned those supporting reservation.
Shukla said a students’ front had been constituted in protest against reservation. Abhishek Shukla was unanimously elected the convener, Vijay Dwivedi joint convener and Pradeep Narayan Dwivedi spokesperson. Samar Bahadur Singh was allotted the responsibility of hostels.
Shukla disclosed that a general meeting had been called in the university and students would gherao the admission committee on April 17 as part of their campaign against reservation. The campaign will be supported by former CMP degree college leader Sunil Dwivedi and Preeti Tripathi, who took the responsibility of AUs constituent colleges.
Those present in the meeting included Sanjay Sharma, Anand Singh, Umesh Upadhyay, Jitendra Shukla, Ashish Dayal, Kundan Singh, Anurag Shukla and many others.
PSC decision
Students hailed the decision of the Public Service Commission (PSC) to consider the Lower Sub-ordinate examination-2006 as the Lower sub-ordinate examination-2004. Student leaders Ripusoodan Yadav and Nirbhay Singh Patel expressed their gratitude towards the chairman, members and the examination controller of the PSC for the decision. The students distributed sweets in the AU student union hall. BL Yadav, Satrughan Singh, Prem Singh, Arvind Gandhi, Sanjay Singh, Brijesh Dwivedi, Chandrajeet Singh among others were present on the occasion.
