A FACULTY member of Allahabad University's Centre for Behavioural and Cognitive Sciences (CBCS) Dr Bhoomika R Kar has been invited by the International Neuropsychological Society (INS) to present a paper during its mid-year meeting-cum-symposia scheduled to be held between July 26-29, 2006 at Zurich in Switzerland.

Dr Kar will present a paper on 'Cognitive Deficits in children with Dyslexia' during the meet.
Dr Bhoomika R Kar is interested in the area of developmental neuropsychology studying normal and abnormal brain and cognitive development.
After completing her post-graduation in Psychology she pursued MPhil in Clinical Psychology from the Central Institute of Psychiatry, Ranchi.
During her doctoral work as a UGC fellow (JRF) at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, (NIMHANS) Bangalore, with Prof Shobini L Rao, Dr Kar developed and standardised a neuropsychological test battery for children in the age range of 5-15 years.
Dr Kar has also been involved in studying the neuropsychological profiles of children with focal and diffuse brain damage.
At CBCS she has been working on a project on 'Identification of children with learning disability in school setting in Allahabad city' in the context of a lack of clinical set up attending learning related problems in children.
