In the Ancient History, Culture and Archaeology department, Prof Harshe instructed the Head of the department Prof RP Tripathi to ensure that all classes are held as per schedule. On finding that two classes were not being held due to the respective teachers being on long leave, the VC instructed Prof Tripathi to depute substitute teachers to such classes the teachers of which are on long leave so that studies of students are not affected.

Prof Harshe, accompanied by the Proctor Prof Jata Shankar also visited the English, Geography, Sanskrit and Political Science departments and spent quite a time talking to students inquiring about their studies, regularity of classes and response of teachers to their queries.

Much to the surprise of the students, the VC patiently also asked the students to share their problems related to academics and the varsity, if any.

It is to be recalled that on August 23, Head of AU Ancient History, Culture and Archaeology Department Prof RP Tripathi had issued notices against half-a-dozen teachers and two research scholars for failing to take their classes regularly.

The action had followed then too following a surprise visit to the department by the AU Vice-Chancellor Prof Rajen Harshe.
