A city-based theatre troupe weaved a magic depicting a plethora of issues related to women.
The audience seemed mesmerised with the histrionic talents showcased by the artistes of the Urban Suburban Production performing Fly High, Firefly at the DLF-5 City Club on Sunday.
The show depicted various female characters, including senior citizen, corporate honchos, professionals, homemakers and students, celebrating womanhood with all its sparkle and fire.
Consisting of a spectacular audio-visual introduction followed by four distinct playlets, ‘Fly High, Firefly’ addressed a range of issues, but in a way that was palatable and effective, using humour, honesty and straight talk to convey the core message.
The four short plays — ‘Fallen Angel’, ‘Maid for Each Other’, ‘LV*NV’ and ‘I’m Every Woman’— touched various issues related to women such as cheating and bossy husbands, a housewife’s bonding with her maid, the obsession with fashion and designer brands and the incredible tangled tapestry women constantly weave with the complex common thread that they share.
A fashion show which was held in April was a runaway hit, thanks to the heart-rendering performance by the Nizami brothers.
