Martina Hingis' dramatic career comeback at the Australian Open is generating as much interest online as it is among the Melbourne Park crowds, tournament organisers revealed on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old Swiss Miss' biography has been the most viewed on the tournament's website, www.australianopen.com, by a long shot, far outscoring the profiles of other players at the season-opening Grand Slam.
The triple Australian Open champion's fairytale return after a three-year lay-off is generating considerably more interest than Russian superstar Maria Sharapova — who was the most searched for athlete on Yahoo last year.
Flamboyant Cypriot Marcos Baghdatis is also popular among Internet users as he continues to cut a swathe through the tournament seeds, although Roger Federer's profile remains the most browsed among the men.
The most viewed biographies are Martina Hingis (407,899 hits), Maria Sharapova (272,379), Roger Federer (199,581), Daniela Hantuchova (198,688) and Marcos Baghdatis (160,840).
Overall, interest in the tournament has skyrocketed this year, with 11.4 million visits to the website so far — 38 percent more than last year.
Most users come from Europe, followed by the United States, Australia and Asia.
