Mr Hansraj Pahwa, the founder of Avon Cycles, one of the leading cycle manufactures in the country, breathed his last last night after suffering a heart attack. He was 97.

Mr Pahwa popularly known as Bauji was one of the pioneers of the cycle industry in Ludhiana. After migrating from Pakistan in 1947 he set-up a cycle repair shop. Thereafter their was no looking back and he then went onto to set-up Avon Cycles.
Mr Pahwa is survived by his grandchildren. His son Inderjit had died last month at the age of 67, while his daughter had passed away a couple of years back.
His body was consigned to the flames. A large number of prominent citizens and leading industrialists were present at the cremation.
