Kazim Ali said he made the discovery when he filed an RTI query about the status of the land on which the Jauhar University stands.

He alleged during the 2003-07 tenure of the SP government, Khan had taken over 480 bigha (nearly 200 acres) of ‘enemy property’ (left behind by people who moved to another country) and claimed the land belonged to Jauhar Trust. The government is the custodian of such property.

Kazim Ali also accused Khan of encroaching on Waqf land. Khan could not be reached for his reaction to the charges.
