B'desh finance minister hospitalised in Andhra

Bangladesh Finance Minister Saifur Rehman, who is here to attend the annual ADB meet, was on Friday hospitalised following complaints of breathlessness.

The doctors attending on the visiting dignitary said they suspected signs of Septicaemia (infection of the blood).

The minister has a medical history of urinary tract infection and has been undergoing treatment for the problem for the past few years.

"We are conducting a battery of investigations on him. We expect the results by this evening," a doctor attending on him at Yashoda Hospital said.

A decision on the course of treatment would be taken on the basis of the results of the diagnostic tests, the doctor said.
