Dubey said though he handed over a number of memorandums to the university administration to ensure admission of 36 students selected in the B.Ed entrance examination, the authorities failed to fulfil it. After these students cleared the entrance examination, they were sent to St Andrew’s Degree College, but college principal JK Lal refused to admit them.

He said since the college was a minority institution, university cannot force the college to admit these students. The fate of these students has been hanging in the balance in the last two months. These students joined Dubey’s relay hunger strike. They included Dharmendra Tripathi, Mahendra Singh, Madan Lal Sharma, Brijendra Pratap Singh and Aftab Alam among others.
