The Indian Institutes of Management at Indore and Bangalore have hiked their post-graduate programme fee, while the decision of the hike at IIM-Ahmedabad will be taken on Sunday.

"The fee of IIM-Indore has been hiked from the present Rs 1.25 lakh to Rs 1.50 lakh. There will also be an increase in the intake of post-graduate programme students from 120 to 180 from the next session," IIM-Indore Director SP Parashar said after the 7th annual convocation of the institute.

Sources at IIM-Ahmedabad have said that similar modifications in the programme structure of IIM-Bangalore have been made.

However, IIM-Ahmedabad Director Professor Bakul Dholakia was non-committal on the issue. "We have not made a decision on the fee hike as yet," Dholakia said.

"I cannot say at this stage whether we will hike the fees. Any matter related to fee hike can be known after the board meeting concludes on Sunday," he said.

At present, IIM-Ahmedabad incurs Rs 3.5 lakh as expenses on each student of the post-graduate programme. Of this amount, the institute charges Rs 1.5 lakh as fees from the students while a large part of the expenses is recovered from companies who come in for the annual campus placements.
