An elegant restaurant with a view of the pool and a stunning entrance that looks straight out of a museum, this used to be the standard against which other Thai restaurants were measured, but time, and the departure of the original chefs, appear to have taken their toll. The restaurant has regained some of the lost ground, and the green curry- it goes best with chicken- continues to sparkle with a medley of subtle flavours. It's also the place to order a Pad Thai, because you'll get the bang you expect from your buck. For starters, order the Satay Kai (succulent chicken satay), Thod Man Koong (prawn cakes served with a delicious plum sauce) and Poo Cha (deep-fried crab meat and minced chicken in a crab shell, served again with divine plum sauce. The service staff, though, needs a crash course in the art of looking happy.
