They said some new laws and major decisions might be adopted in the session.
It might be the last session of the country's Parliament elected for a five-year term in 2001. Polls are scheduled for early 2007.
The main opposition Awami League has confirmed its participation amid threats to boycott the polls unless electoral reforms are carried out.
