The Bangladesh Army will take delivery of 60 Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) from Russia in March for use on UN missions abroad, media reports said on Friday.

The cost of the acquisition was not known, but funding for the BTR-80 8x8 wheeled vehicles was obtained outside the defence budget.
Bangladesh currently has 10,000 troops serving with the UN and recently it authorised an increase up to 16,000.
The Bangladesh Army now has 175 APCs, of which, about 70 are currently deployed overseas.
