Fearing that she’ll get too reliant on her boyfriend Jay-Z after falling madly in love with him, pop singer Beyonce Knowles is struggling to maintain a little distance from him.

The former Destiny’s Child star said that she knew she had to take a step back from her relationship, after she started to do things she had never contemplated before.

"Sometimes you fall so much in love that you start doing things you wouldn't normally do, and you're so into this person that they have control over you,” Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.

"But I think it's important to still know who your are and what you want out of life - that's how you have a healthy relationship," she added.

And that’s the reason the Bootylicious singer is planning to divert her attention to her musical career.
