Bhajji sacrifices home visit to practice

While the other players have returned to their homes at the conclusion of the Asia Cup camp on Thursday, Harbhajan Singh has stayed back at Chennai to fine-tune his bowling and make a successful comeback.

"I am still in Chennai because I want to practise bowling as I am concentrating on my comeback," Harbhajan told IANS over the telephone.
The six-nation Asia Cup will be played July 16-Aug 1 at Colombo and Dambulla cities.
Obviously, India's number one the off-spinner is not taking any chances as he returns to the national team following a long lay-off because of a hand injury.
"I am concentrating hard and totally focussed on my comeback. I am not thinking anything else," said the 24-year-old, who has bagged 104 wickets in 82 one-day internationals and 151 scalps in 36 Tests.
"I have not gone home (in Jallandhar) and have no plan to go there (until the end of Asia Cup)," added India's only bowler to have performed a hat-trick in Test cricket.
The five-day final preparatory camp began at Chennai July 3 and concluded with the announcement of a 14-member team Thursday.
Harbhajan had injured his webbing between the index and middle fingers and aggravated the injury early on the tour of Australia. He played just the first of the four Tests and missed the subsequent one-day VB Triangular Series.
While he recuperated from the injury, Harbhajan ventured into different cricket-related vocation activities.
He turned out as an expert on a news channel for the India's tour of Pakistan in March-April, wrote a newspaper column on the series and recently took to the ramp along with Zaheer Khan, Irfan Pathan and Mohammed Kaif for a newly-launched mobile by their sponsor Samsung.
The Indian team leaves for Colombo Tuesday, and plays its first match of the tournament July 16, against the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Defending champion Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Hong Kong are the other competing nations.
