BHU youth fest from Feb 23

‘Kashi Yatra’, the four-day all India annual youth festival of the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University, will be organised at Swatantrata Bhawan in BHU from February 23 to 26.

Chairman of the organising committee and faculty member at Chemical Engineering Department Dr. PK Mishra informed that a ‘Kavi Sammellan’ would be organised on February 23 in the evening. Eminent poets including Dr. Sunil Yogi, Visheshwar Sharma, Vishnu Sharma, Suman Dubey and Imran would participate in the ‘Kavi-Sammellan’.

He said that a fashion show, Mirage would be held on February 24 in which Miss India-05 Niharika Singh would walk the ramp. “Besides, other models such as Parul Thapar and Gagan Ahluwalia will also particpate. Rock band of Mumbai Vayu will enthrall the students on February 25”, he said.Dr. Mishra said that the centre of attraction of the four-day festival would be the Indian music night ‘Malhar’ on February 26 in which noted playback singer and actor Lucky Ali, along with his troop, would enthrall the students.

General secretary of Kashi Yatra Gaurav Shukla informed that various competitive events such as Nupoor (dance contest), Sargam (singing contest), Rangayan (fine art contest), Cross Windz (rock contest), literary event, theatre, quiz and fine art exhibition would also be organised during the festival. He said eminent quiz master of Kolkata Gautam Ghosh would conduct the quiz whereas Pranav Mukherjee would supervise the events.
