The man, Bindeshwar Ram, had taken shelter in a school with his wife and four children after flood water entered his home in old Khagra area, the sources said.

Ram's wife alleged that her husband hanged himself as the family did not receive relief materials for three days.

District magistrate Aditya Kumar Das said that the man took his life because of some personal reason and not as claimed by his wife. He said the police were investigating the matter.
