According to sources, axe is likely to fall on the party’s south and north city presidents. The party leadership is waiting for an opportune time to remove these two unit chiefs.
The seed of internal bickering in the south city lies in the fact that the partymen are not happy with their unit president . In the north city, the problem is associated with sloganeering against a senior RSS functionary at a meeting.
At a meeting of the party’s north city unit, BJP members raised slogans against Vibhag Sangathan Mantri of the RSS Prakash Pal. This happened in the presence of its district president Rakesh Sonker. Obviously, the senior RSS functionaries were angry at such conduct.
A couple of days back, Sonker got a dressing down from RSS Prant Pracharak Newal Kishore. The RSS annoyance might have reached the State leadership which decided to take some drastic steps to deal with the issue.
Earlier, it was felt that these two leaders enjoyed the blessings of the State leadership. As far as south city unit is considered, the party office-bearers have sent a volley of complaints against their president Radhey Shyam Pandey.
Thus, the State leadership has decided to remove him, too. According to senior BJP leaders, the party was still undecided about the removal of these two leaders as party’s organisational polls are scheduled for next month. Even if the party removes them immediately, two acting presidents should be appointed. The party leadership was weighing various options, sourcdes said.
