The BJP activists shouted slogans such as ‘Pradesh sarkar ko barkhast karo’, ‘Gundagardi band karo’ against Samajwadi Party government. It was observed that the law and order scenario of Uttar Pradesh has been at its all-time worst ever since the SP came to power.
It was also alleged that the Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav was wooing the electorate by distributing Kanya Vidya Dhan and Unemployment Allowance in view of the forthcoming assembly election.
The BJP activists demanded that the Governor TV Rajeswar dismiss the state government with immediate effect.
Harshpal Kapoor, Shanker Giri, Navratan Rathi, Purushottam Gupta, Ravi Shanker Singh, Markandeya Verma, Sushila Yadav, Aruna Kakkad, Sadhana Vedanti, Vimla Dubey and Badri Narayan Gupta were among other leaders who addressed the dharna.
