UNION HUMAN Resource Minister Arjun Singh today said that the BJP is falling apart under the weight of its own inherent contradictions. The fact that BJP’s top most leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee chose not to speak at the Mumbai conclave held to celebrate the party’s silver jubilee only indicated his disillusionment, he added Arjun Singh was speaking at a seminar organised by legal cell of the State Congress on ‘ Real face of the BJP’.

He held the Hindu Mahasabha and RSS responsible for partition of the country and said these were the first to propound the two-nation theory and infused the thought that Hindus and Muslims cannot live together in one nation. “The Hindu Mahasabha and RSS changed the stream of history in the wrong direction”, he asserted.

However, today there are more Muslims in India than Pakistan because a majority of Muslims had faith in Congress and its ideology that made them choose India as their country at the time of partition, he said.

Singh quipped in creating confusion and misgivings among the people of India, the BJP may create a record but as far as its contribution to nation-building is concerned one would have to look with a microscope as to what good it has done.
