BJP flays CM?s move to spend public fund

THE BHARATIYA Janata Party (BJP) has condemned Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav?s reported move to get cabinet approval to spend Rs 16 crore from the public exchequer to mobilise crowds and to erect and pandals for his proposed meetings.

The party said that all the proposed functions of the Chief Minister were purely ‘political’ and part of the Samajwadi Party (SP) propaganda for the coming Vidhan Sabha elections.

Talking to reporters here on Sunday, state BJP spokesman Hridya Narain Dixit said that the public exchequer was not the property of any political party and it was meant for people’s welfare which was being misused by the SP shamelessly.
He urged the Chief Minister not to spend public money on his party’s election campaign otherwise the BJP would have no option but to launch a campaign against such extravagance.

Dixit expressed serious concern over increasing indiscipline in the Police Department and said that IPS officers were being manhandled and thrashed by the SP goons.He alleged that the police were selectively targeting political rivals of the Chief Minister and his party all over the state. Besides fake FIRs were being lodged and innocent people implicated. He claimed that there was a strong resentment among the people against the SP rule.

This, he said, would prove disastrous for the SP and people would certainly teach a lesson to the SP in the coming Vidhan Sabha elections.
