Private vehicles were, however, plying without any obstruction. No violence had been reported from anywhere.
BJP leaders alleged that police had remained passive while Marxist feeder outfits attacked a Yuva Morcha sit-in in front of the government secretariat in Thiruvananthapuram yesterday.
CPI (M), however, rejected the charge, saying the clashes in the city were sparked by the saffron party.
