THE BJP MP Ravi Shanker Prasad said here on Saturday that an uniform civil, if introduced, would give more power to women and help the nation develop by leaps and bounds.
Prasad made these remarks at a seminar on Uniform Civil Code organised by Dayanand College of Law. Prasad said the importance of Uniform Civil Code had been expressed thrice by the apex court in different judgments. He also voiced concern over the on-going criminalsation of politics and said that in many cases, law-makers had played the role of law-breakers. He added: “It is not good for the country.”
