All the office-bearers of Banswara and Dungarpur units of BJP in Rajasthan have resigned protesting the party high command's decision to allot Banswara Lok Sabha seat to its NDA ally JD (U), BJP state unit chief Lalit Kishore Chaturvedi said here on March 30.

"We have not accepted their resignations and trying to persuade them to accept the party line," he told reporters here.

Chaturvedi said even the formula hammered out by Union Finance Minister Jaswant Singh and Defence Minister George Fernandes under which a BJP man may contest Banswara seat on JD ((U) ticket had not found favour with local BJP workers.

"However, we are trying to impress upon JD ((U) leaders that only BJP, whose workers had been doing serious field work in the area for the last several years, could win the seat as out of eight assembly segments BJP nominees were elected to four and lost another with a slender margin," Chaturvedi said.

BJP had left three assembly seats for JD ((U) which could win only two seats in the recent polls, he said.
