"BJP has always tried to divide people and spread hatred among them. This does not help the country in any way," said the youth leader, who addressed election meetings in Madhya Pradesh's Khargone, Khandwa, Bhind, Dewas and Mandsaur today.
The Congress, on the other hand, is a constructive party that takes everyone along with it, he claimed.

Criticising BJP for the "India Shining" slogan coined during the 2004 elections, Rahul said poor hardly understood what the slogan meant.

"I can understand English but even I failed to make out what the slogan meant," he said.
In a veiled attack on Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Rahul said instead of criticising him, Chouhan should try to get acquainted with the ground realities of the state.
