Karunanidhi made controversial remarks on Ram last month while defending the Sethusamudram Shipping Canal Project.

State BJP leader Ila Ganesan said in a statement here that the party will also seek legal action against Karunanidhi loyalists and ministers Arcot N Veerasamy and TR Baalu of the ruling DMK for inciting violence over remarks attributed to Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Ram Vilas Vedanti and for criticising the judiciary.

The statement said the party's state central committee meeting here had taken the decision to haul the DMK leaders to court.
