While the staff has agreed to resume services unconditionally, the management still insists on a formal application for reappointment and an apology letter before they are taken back in job. This insistence on formal application for fresh appointment and an apology is the only hitch keeping the hospital still shut.

“They just have to give an application so that legal requirement is met. Otherwise, persons who have applied in response to our advertisement may go to court and get a stay. Once it happens, there will be stalemate again. There will be no adverse impact on their seniority or salary.

Besides, they should also apologise for their conduct. We won’t mind even if it is a collective apology. And, I will be the happiest man on earth if the matter is resolved”, said local trustee Aziz Ahmed Siddiqui.

On the other hand, one of the leaders of the agitating staff, Dr Salim Naik, said that they have agreed to withdraw their agitation unconditionally and the management should reciprocate the gesture by taking all the employees back in job unconditionally.

He further ruled out the possibility of giving fresh application for reappointment or tendering apology for their conduct as desired by the hospital management.

But fresh application for appointment or apology letter seemed to be petty matters as both, the staff and the management, now look eager to restore normalcy in the hospital, where staff agitation has led to collapse of medical services for almost a month now.

Meanwhile, the action group formed following meeting of representatives of different political parties, social workers, NGOs and a group of eminent citizens today called on Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to urge him effectively intervene in the matter for end of BMHRC impasse. Senior BJP leader Kailash Sarang is chairman of the group.

They also met the Governor in this regard. They have also had talks with representatives of hospital management as well.

Senior BJP leader Kailash Joshi is also said to have talked to BMHRC Trust chairman Justice A M Ahmadi on the issue. Going by the indications available, the BMHRC crisis may be resolved in next couple of days.
