All three were from Kasargode district, which borders Mangalore.

The result of the DNA test was conveyed to the Kasargode district collector who passed on the information to the relatives of the deceased, the official said.

The IX 812 Dubai-Mangalore flight overshot the runway while landing at Bajpe airport, about 20 km from Mangalore, fell over a cliff and caught fire, killing 158 of the 166 on board. The dead included all the six crew members. Eight passengers miraculously survived.

Mangalore police Tuesday said 22 bodies were yet to be identified and DNA samples of claimants and the bodies had been taken for tests.
