No more demure. Bollywood lovers get bold and outrageous as they kiss and tell it all on screen.
"Gone are days when two flowers nodding depicted a kiss on screen. Two actors have to kiss and touch each other.” Deepika Padukone had said this referring to her liplock with Saif Ali Khan in Love Aaj Kal. So B’town went all out locking lips on screen in 2009. Here are the on-screen kisses that created a buzz before and even after the films released.
Former bond girl Denise Richards kissed Akshay Kumar for a whole two minutes in Kambakkht Ishq and was so impressed that she called Akshay a “good kisser”. Kareena Kapoor too locked lips with Akshay in the film. And she went all out with beau Saif in Kurbaan, so much so that their passionate love-making became a topic of discussion while the film was still being shot.
Director Vishal Bhardwaj had much convincing to do get Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra to kiss for Kaminey. Mahi Gill and Abhay Deol smooched Dev D to success. But the film made news for more than just that.
She may have been terrified of Emraan Hashmi’s serial kisser image, but that didn’t stop Soha Ali Khan from kissing him in Tum Mile. Love Khichdi made news only for Randeep Hooda and Ria Sen’s kiss. Hooda also locked lips with ex Sushmita Sen in Karma and Holi. But it is Aamir Khan’s kiss with Kareena in the climax of 3 Idiots that stole the show as the year ended.
