Two persons riding a motorcycle threw a bomb at a DMK functionary's house in Madurai on Wednesday, creating panic in the area.

No one was injured in the attack on DMK party's Tamil Nadu Executive member Suresh Babu's house, carried out early this morning, police said.

Police said the two also threw soda bottles and stones at the house. They also shouted some slogans which were not clear or heard properly,the sources said.

The attack comes ahead of the bye-election to the Tamil assembly from Tirumangalam constituency in the district on January nine.
