Lending an insight into the Mahatma's personal life, a new book, which its publishers say is a biography and a psycho-analysis of the cult figure, has hit the bookstores.

Titled 'Brahmacharya Gandhi and his Women Associates' and written by Girja Kumar, former President of the Indian Library Association, the book deals with Gandhi's experiments with Brahmacharya which he practised since 1906 till his death.

The book, published by Vitasta Publishing and released, is based on Gandhiji's own words and the records of some of his close associates.

The publishers says that the book is a "biography within a biography" and a psycho-analysis of one of the tallest world leaders.

"Attempts have been made not to take a position and to enable readers to frame opinion of their own," the publishers say.

Girija Kumar is an 80-year-old research scholar who has worked on the book for eight years.
